This tranquil scene is in my den. I just realized it is 50 years old. I bought the cloth (furoshiki) and had it framed when I lived in Misawa Japan. The cloths were used to carry things in- groceries etc. You would place the objects in the center and then fold the corners together to create a satchel of sorts.

What a beautiful bargain, and a treasured souvenir of a remarkable year teaching in Japan.
