Treasured Time

This tranquil scene is in my den. I just realized it is 50 years old. I bought the cloth (furoshiki) and had it framed when I lived in Misawa Japan. The cloths were used to carry things in- groceries etc. You would place the objects in the center and then fold the corners together to create a satchel of sorts.

I remember it cost about $5.00 US money.

What a beautiful bargain, and a treasured souvenir of a remarkable year teaching in Japan.

You Are the Medicine by Ale Padilla

“Cure yourself, with the light of the Sun and the rays of the Moon. With the Sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the Sea and the fluttering of birds. Heal yourself, with the mint
