Expansion

Someone recently told me that Parkinson's tries to make our world smaller. It can rob us of our ability to get out into the world, to move about at all.

She recommended thinking of expanding whenever possible. I'm new to Parkinson's, but I could see her advice was good. I've been shrinking back, shrinking in from pains that movement can bring. But, I'm going to try and stay as enlarged as I can for as long as I can.

This writing came to me this morning and I wanted to share it here, where I get so much encouragement and hints on how to cope.

As I awakened I saw a vision of a new horizon-an expanded world view

of what I always thought was the only way to see

I came to know, excitedly, that the future was expansive, and full of joyful choices

A smile came to my face

A lightheartedness filled my body

I aligned with Grace, Peace, and Love

I felt renewed, fresh, expectant and so very calm

I’m so glad I got back on the Road this morning

Didn’t stay sheltered, frightened, worried, isolated

I decided to forge ahead

Got out of bed

Walked steadily, hopefully

It paid off

I SEE anew

My future is alive with possibilities!
