Playing From The Heart

This is a writing from a few years ago that expresses how honored I always am to be asked to play at memorial services.

////////////////

I am headed to a memorial service for a lovely woman I did not know.

I am going to play my Native American Style Flute at the service. This instrument, played with an open heart, has the ability to go deeply inside of people, but also to uplift them at the same time.

I will hear how she touched the lives of the people she held dear, and who love, and will miss her.

I pray now, in preparation so that my songs will come directly from my heart. I pray that my music will honor her memory, and uplift the feelings of those who gather to share in this tribute to her.

It is a privilege to be able to play at such an event.
